About Me

I grew up in Waukesha County, WI and moved to St. Louis, MO 9 months after college graduation and 8 months after getting married. I have been married 22 years, as of June 2025, and have not been blessed with children. I grew up hunting and fishing, with my favorite hobby being ice fishing as I love the cold. As an adult, I continue to hunt and fish, am an amature photographer, run an FFL as a hobby, enjoy woodworking, and training our German Shephard.

I am also a huge nerd. I worked in IT while in college and after graduation and got the bug for LAN and WAN. I have two servers racks in my basement housing 48 gigabit ports, 60 hard wired lines, a server my firewall runs on, and a server hosting Windows Server 2019 Datacenter running to Hypervisor with virtual servers for my domain controllers and file server; why, because it is fun. I have custom built my last 3 computers and truly love and enjoy technology. When we built our home in 2008, we built home automation into it via a Lutron Homeworks system. We have other home automation in the house and my nerdism continues to grow and we add more each year. I see being a nerd as something similar to getting a virus or bacterial infection, it continues to grow and get worse; it isn't like you get less nerdy and desire less technology as the years pass.

Profession/Health

I went to Marquette University and earned my B.S. in Electrical Engineering. My desire was to work for an aerospace company and that is where I ended up. I worked as an engineer and a Program Manager in Supply Chain.

In August 2016, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). I went through 2 treatments over an 8 week period which nocked the percentage in my body to 2.5%. I did a 30 day round of blinitubamab, a chemical that bonds with your T-cells and uses your body to kill the leukemia but requires one to wear a bag 24/7 for 30 days and have it swapped out every 24 hours. I had a two week break and did 10 more days of blinitubamab before having major neurological issues which stopped treatment. I had bone marrow biopsy and was cleared of leukemia (MRD-) if I recall. This cleared the path for me to have a Bone Marrow Transplant or in my case an allogenic stem cell transplant (same thing but different procedure for the donor). My brother was a 100% match and willing. Total in hospital time from diagnosis through release after transplant was 15 weeks.

It took 17 months to recover enough energy to work 10 hours/week which used all my energy. Long Story short, I poured all my energy into work trying to return to normal and in 2021 averaged 24 hours/week. I pushed too hard in 2022 and ended up having energy crashes and my energy was reduced so low I couldn't even support 10 hours/week. I went on leave for 5 months, returning to work in 2023 only to find out that my energy wasn't there. I went back on leave 5 weeks later and have been on leave ever since. My employer retains me for 30 months and then I will get laid off; I expect this end of year unless a miracle occurs and my energy is restored.

After years of not knowing why my energy was so low, my oncologist has finally concluded that I have Graft Verses Host Disease presenting as Chronic Fatigue. There is no remedy but there are things I can do to manage my energy and I am still learning as is the health industry. I do my best to live contently with where I am at in life. I am not perfect in this but strive to be. I was able to share a little part of my testimony this past year and here is a link.

What I Believe

I believe that the Bible was written by God through men. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, died on the cross, rose 3 days later, and sits at the right hand of God The Father.
